Workshops

Due to the expected high interest in “CATS” it is likely that we will need to restrict the number of cast members that will appear in the onstage company. We are currently confirming plans for a permanent booth singing team who will provide much needed vocal support as the dancers execute the exhausting choreography which is such a feature of the show. During the initial workshops the creative team will outline their vision for the show including an original new set design concept which will provide the platform for our adventure. Workshops will explore the characters involved in the show and the different roles they all play within the ‘Jellicle’ tribe. The director/choreographer will talk the prospective cast through some of the original TS Eliot source material before starting to explore the physicality of ‘becoming a cat’. The Musical Director will provide an outline of the range of Lloyd Webber’s eclectic score whilst outlining what will be required of those wishing to audition for different roles. Finally, during the workshops the director/choreographer will lead the company through a sample of the dance work in the show demonstrating the ranges of movement that will be required by those auditioning for roles as cats.

Show Overview & Meet the Team – 27th February at the Alhambra Theatre from 7pm until 10pm. This will include a character & movement workshop;

Vocal Workshop – 6th March at Limelight Studio, Parkneuk, Dunfermline from 7:30pm until 10pm.
